The Melbourne Ballpark is one of the premier baseball stadiums in Victoria, Australia. It is located in beautiful area of Altona, which is 15 minutes away from the Melbourne CBD. The venue was opened back in 1990 and was renovated in 2012 with the arrival of the official Melbourne Aces (ABL) team.
Also known as the State Baseball Softball Centre, it has witnessed various remarkable victories. The stadium and is also a home to the Melbourne Aces and has hosted the Australian Baseball League (ABL) All-Star game for three years from 2012-2014.
The new developments included some of the advanced facilities, such as a new infield surface with a synthetic grass provided by AstroTurb. In 2019, a new video screen was installed in the stadium to give better experience to the spectators.
The outfield turf has also been re-conditioned to meet the highest safety standards needed by Major League Baseball and the Australian Baseball League. Some of the other renovations include extended player amenities, re-conditioning of seating arrangements, new-age sound system and new corporate boxes.
The facility includes a main grandstand which has a capacity of around 2,200 seats. Apart from this, there are hills down each of the base line with a total capacity of more than 5,000. You can watch the matches of Melbourne Aces and other teams.
